Scoops, Smiles, and Summer Vibes at Jesse’s Ice Cream 🍦

Scoops, Smiles, and Summer Vibes at Jesse’s Ice Cream 🍦
If there’s one thing that signals the arrival of summer around Candlewood Lake, it’s a trip for ice cream. And if you haven’t discovered Jesse’s Ice Cream in downtown New Milford yet, consider this your official invitation.
Located right on Main Street, on the green, Jesse’s has quickly become one of the sweetest spots in town. Opened in 2025 by lifelong New Milford resident Jesse Pruchnik and his family, the shop is built around a simple idea: great ice cream, friendly service, and a place where everyone feels welcome.
The menu goes far beyond your standard cone. Visitors can enjoy homemade handcrafted scoop ice cream, self-serve soft serve, frozen yogurt, Dole soft serve, soft serve gelato, milkshakes, sundaes, soda floats, affogatos, and cookie ice cream sandwiches. Feeling creative? There are more than 30 toppings available, making it easy to build your dream dessert.
One of the things that makes Jesse’s stand out is that there truly is something for everyone. The shop offers gluten-free, vegan-friendly, dairy-free, and nut-allergy-safe options, so nobody has to miss out on the fun.
And here’s a detail dog lovers will appreciate: Jesse’s has a cozy outdoor patio that welcomes four-legged friends. In fact, pups can even enjoy a complimentary pup cup while their humans dig into a sundae. That's what we call a win-win. 🐾🍦
Whether you're wrapping up a day on Candlewood Lake, exploring downtown New Milford, or simply looking for an excuse to treat yourself, Jesse’s Ice Cream is worth the stop. After all, summer memories are made one scoop at a time.
The Candlewood Current Tip: Bring the family, bring the dog, and don't be surprised if Jesse’s becomes your new favorite summer tradition. https://www.jessesicecream.com/store
Fore! Fun for Everyone at Golf Ranch in Brookfield

Looking for a place where serious golfers, weekend hackers, families, and kids can all have a great time together? Then it might be time to head over to Golf Ranch in Brookfield.
Located just off Federal Road at 1 Sand Cut Road, Golf Ranch has transformed the traditional driving range experience into something much more fun, social, and interactive. Think less "practice range" and more "hangout destination."
One of the biggest attractions is Toptracer technology, available in every hitting bay. Ever wonder how far your drive really went? Want to play virtual golf games with friends or compete on famous courses from around the world? Toptracer lets you track your shots, see ball flight, and turn an ordinary bucket of balls into an interactive experience.
Not a golfer? No problem.
Golf Ranch also features an 18-hole mini-golf course that's perfect for family outings, date nights, birthday parties, or settling long-standing family rivalries. Just remember: a three-foot putt suddenly becomes much harder when everyone is watching.
The facility also offers lessons, covered hitting bays for all-weather play, food, group event spaces, and a relaxed atmosphere that welcomes golfers of every skill level. In fact, Golf Ranch's philosophy is "same great game, less formal, more chill"—a motto that feels right at home in Brookfield.
What makes Golf Ranch especially appealing is that you don't need to be a golfer to enjoy it. Bring the family, challenge a friend to mini golf, hit a few balls, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy an evening outdoors. It's one of those local spots that offers just enough activity to make a regular afternoon feel like a mini-vacation.
As summer arrives around Candlewood Lake, Golf Ranch is a great reminder that sometimes a little friendly competition—and maybe a few wayward golf shots—can make for a pretty perfect day.
Have you visited Golf Ranch lately? Let us know your favorite hole on the mini-golf course... or how many balls it took to hit the target 200 yards away.
